The reserve covers 120 hectares. The entire area of the peninsula is inserted through the Iguazú River in the Do Iguazú National Park in Brazil, and makes contact in its West region with the Iguazú National Park in Argentina, which makes it a strategic natural corridor for connecting both parks. The area is located within the Alto Paraná Atlantic forest Ecoregion or the Paranaense Forest.
